Hey, Math minds, so I was going through the internet hoping to find a list of mathematicians and what they had come up with over the years and I was so shocked to find out that not much of these minds were so much recognized.

Evolution of Mathematics

The earliest records of mathematics show it arising in response to practical needs in agriculture, business, and industry. In Egypt and Mesopotamia, where evidence dates from the 2d and 3d millennia B.C., it was used for surveying; estimates of the value of π (pi) are found in both locations. However, it is now known that the Babylonians were aware of the necessity of proofs prior to the Greeks, who had been presumed the originators of this important step.

What is Mathematics

Mathematics may be defined as “the study of relationships among quantities, magnitudes, and properties, and also of the logical operations by which unknown quantities, magnitudes, and properties may be deduced” (Microsoft Encarta Encyclopaedia) or "the study of quantity, structure, space and change" (Wikipedia).
